Our First Casualty

Lettuce

We had our first, and most likely not last, garden casualty today. Nibbler could not stand the temptation any longer and munch her heart out on our beautiful lettuce.

She spent the rest of the day avoiding Mike, knowing she had been bad.

Poor girl, she just acted on the impulse. As both Mike and I have been saying the last couple weeks, it was starting to look really great. Just too yummy for the pup to ignore any longer.

As a result, Mike had to rig up a taller fence as it seems Nibbler is no longer timid around the 6 inch high fencing…it was nice while it lasted. I'm actually surprised she didn't eat more. Luckily for us, we're all leaves and a few flowers, no fruit/veggie buds yet.
