Recovered Craft Binder
Project #27 in '50 in 2009 Challenge'

Oh boy, I've been sitting on this picture since mid-July - I just haven't had anything to say about the project. After finishing the mad dash to complete my Shoulder Warmer and whipping out the Harry Potter peg people, I was feeling the crafty high…full of motivation to create.

So I cranked out this fabric binder cover that Sunday afternoon.

It's a project that's been on the crafty to-do for a couple years, to make a giant (probably 4") three-ring binder Mike got during Boy Scout Camp School pretty and useful again. Now it's clothed in Sarah appropriate cloth and ready to house all my loose patterns.

Determined not to spend cash on the project, all fabric is from the stash (One for Me, One for You leftovers) and the dividers I started to create are constructed of cereal boxes! How's that for ingenious? Especially since this thing is so huge, regular dividers would get kinda lost.

I kind of lost steam after that Sunday of sewing , cutting and three-hole punching. A lot of loose stuff is now in the binder, but there's not much rhyme or reason. Once everything gets in, I need to go through and put each section (knitting, crochet, paper craft, etc) into more order based on subheads (like knit hats, knit toys, etc).

But now the more pressing concern is to clean up the mess I made in our guest room when I pulled out all these loose patterns…mom's coming to visit this weekend and I'd bet she'd like somewhere to sleep besides the couch.
